When introducing a new business with storefront building signs in Mesa, AZ, customization is critical for making a great first impression. When you are taking over a space previously occupied by a company closely related to your niche, any commercial building signage you choose must expertly set your business apart from the prior tenant. We recently assisted the Zax Cigar Bar with its storefront signs ahead of the grand opening to accomplish this goal. Check it out!
Zax Cigar Bar Advertises and Brands With Commercial Building Signage in Mesa
Before the location at 7310 East Main Street became Zax Cigar Bar, it was known as DJ’s Smoke Shop. When our client took over the building, the prior tenant’s signage was still on site. We discussed the best retail signage setup, and the client opted for:

- Front-lit pan channel letters on the building’s sides.
- Re-facing the cabinet box sign above the doorway.
- Brand-centric window graphics and flags.

The goal was to completely rebrand the location and welcome customers to the upscale storefront. Besides that, it was important that passersby realize there had been a change of ownership. Because both businesses operate in a similar niche, we ensured that the brand change would be immediately recognizable.
Get Attention With Building Signs
Illuminated building signs are among the ones best-suited for getting attention. Our clients favor front-lit pan channel letters because they showcase the brand’s colors during the day and impress with lighting after dark. Cabinet signs are another type of building sign with built-in illumination that works well. And because we can completely change the product’s look, we can keep the already-installed signs and update only the facing, which is a great money saver.

The opposite of the front-lit channel letter is the halo-illuminated building sign. For these signs, we fabricate reverse-pan-channel building signs. Illumination shines from the back, which bathes each letter in an elegant halo. We can adjust the halo’s strength by adjusting the spacing between each letter and the wall.
Of course, if you do not need buildings signs with built-in LEDs, you might consider 3D letter building signage. You still get the benefit of three-dimensional fabrication, but there is no need to connect the sign’s elements to a power source. Some clients prefer this type of building sign when they have facade-mounted light sources and do not expect customers to visit after dark.
