A part of St. Mary’s Parish, St. Juan Diego celebrated its first mass on May 7, 2017. At that time, we were honored to assist the parish with exterior and interior church signs. When the client recently reached out to us again, they wanted to discuss the design, production, and installation of a Chandler foam monument sign.
Respect Life Dedication of the Memorial for the Unborn
On May 9, the church will celebrate the dedication of the Memorial for the Unborn. For this memorial structure, the client requested a foam monument sign. We worked with representatives of St. Juan Diego to design and fabricate the monument using high-density urethane foam (HDU). The cabinet portion is constructed of aluminum and features quarter-inch-thick acrylic letters. Before the installation, we painted this memorial monument to match the church’s exterior colors.
What is a Monument Sign?
A monument sign is a low-profile sign mounted to the ground and typically does not exceed eye height. You frequently see monument signs at the entrances to shopping centers and apartment buildings. Additionally, monument signs are ideal for branded displays.
How Much Do I Have to Pay for a Monument Sign?
A monument sign’s cost depends in large part on the material selection and size. HDU is a budget-friendly material that can mimic the look of brick-and-mortar monuments or lumber construction. Also factoring into the consideration is the level of customization.
What is HDU?
HDU is a polyurethane foam we use to design and fabricate highly detailed monument signs, routed panels for building signs, and custom-carved signage.
Is HDU a Good Option for Arizona’s Heat and Sun Exposure?
HDU is an excellent choice of material for an Arizona sign. The material resists moisture, does not warp in the heat, and will not dry out and crack. Additionally, insects have no taste for HDU signs, protecting your investment.
How Durable is Sign Foam?
HDU is a rigid foam product that is designed for outdoor use. It is durable and provides an architectural appearance without the weight of other material options. In this context, the word “foam” can be misleading. It conjures images of something soft, but this outdoor-rated sign foam is actually so durable that you do not have to keep repainting, resealing, or refinishing it, even after plenty of time spent in the sun.
