It is fair to say that Hughes Supply is a national institution. Founded in 1928, the company is in the business of distributing HVAC and plumbing supplies. When Hughes opened its newest facility in the Phoenix Metro Area’s westernmost suburb, the management team contacted the Spotlight Signs and Imaging Solutions team to design, produce, and install an exterior sign package in Buckeye, AZ.
Reverse Pan Channel Building Sign and Front Door Graphics Introduce the Brand to the Buckeye Community
Because Hughes Supply does not have any brand representation in the area, the building sign had to be highly visible and brand-centric. The client opted for a reverse pan channel building sign, which is a fully custom-made product. It displays the company’s brand colors of black and blue.
However, the client specified reverse illumination rather than mounting the letters flush to the wall. We accommodated the request by mounting the letters with standoffs to a panel. As a result, the light reflects off the back panel and bathes each letter in a halo of illumination. It is an elegant signage display that takes advantage of light to draw the eye.
For the glass doors, we created vinyl decals featuring the corporate logo. We also spelled out the facility’s hours of operation, which is essential for making the venue customer-friendly. The finished look is ideally suited for advertising the company and generating brand awareness.
Which Building Sign is Well Suited for Your Location?
We routinely offer clients a site survey. This lets our team visit the area, note the signage displays, and measure the traffic speed. This data is invaluable when deciding on a building sign. Pan channel building signs—front or backlit—are excellent choices. However, you have added options.
- 3D Building letters. Three-dimensional building signs are popular for clients who do not necessarily need built-in illumination. We use various materials, including acrylic, polycarbonate, aluminum, other metals, and outdoor-rated sign foam.
- Box cabinet. If you do need illumination, the lightbox cabinet is for you. It consists of an aluminum shape with an imprinted polycarbonate front. Interior LEDs allow for the lighting after dark.
- Carved signage panels. For these products, we use high-density urethane. Sandblasting or carving creates stunning works of art that look amazing.
- Blade signs. The blade is ideal for the client who wants to have a sign mounted perpendicular to the wall. Choose a basic double-sided sign or opt for a box cabinet with built-in LEDs.
