Any company that does business at a venue with multiple buildings and entrances needs excellent wayfinding signs. The commitment to directing customers and visitors does not end at the front door. We recently designed, fabricated, and installed campus IDs and directional signage in Chandler, AZ. The sign package resulted in a venue that is easy to navigate despite its size. Check it out!
St. Andrew the Apostle Welcomes With a Comprehensive Sign Package
St. Andrew the Apostle is a Roman Catholic Church that welcomes everyone, hosts numerous events, and works diligently on building community through engagement. Doing so requires parishioners and guests to be able to navigate the campus. We collaborated with the client to develop signage solutions that would make it possible.

These include:
- Flat-cut letters for building signs identifying the chapel, classrooms, office, and similar locations.
- Wall-mounted room names that identify each unique space and hours of operation where applicable.
- Campus wayfinding signs with arrows, which we mounted on building walls along busy foot-traffic corridors.
- Wall-mounted timetables near entrances that help newcomers to the facility plan Mass and confession attendance.
- Post-and-panel wayfinding signs that are freestanding in the landscaping also provide directional assistance.
Notice that these church signs are customized to match the building’s architectural style and the parish’s brand colors.

It makes even the freestanding signs look and feel like they are a harmonious part of the campus overall.
Why Churches Invest in Directional Signage
We have already discussed that wayfinding signage makes a large space easier to navigate for everyone. But what are some other reasons that cause so many faith communities to invest in campus IDs and directional signage?
For starters, wayfinding signs create a positive first impression. Clear directional signs let first-time visitors quickly find the sanctuary, welcome center, children’s ministry, parking areas, and accessible entrances. It was one of the reasons why Ironwood Church asked us to create a contemporary, hanging acrylic sign to welcome children to the kids’ ministry space.

Secondly, wayfinding signs make first-timers feel welcome. Anticipating their questions and directional needs shows that your faith community cares about them. It also prevents them from feeling nervous about finding a nursery, a cry room, or a sanctuary. McDowell Mountain Church recognized this need and asked us to put together an interior and exterior sign package to help visitors navigate from the parking lot to the entrances, welcome center, and individual classrooms.

Of course, safety is always a concern at public venues, and churches are no exception. Good signage reduces unnecessary foot traffic in children’s areas and helps parents identify the classrooms set aside for different age groups.
Are you currently considering updating your church’s signage? Do you need exterior and interior church signs or a memorial monument? Maybe you already have signs in place, but there is room for improvement. Let’s talk about it. Call us today to discuss your next signage project!
