If the name East Valley Golf Carts sounded familiar, you probably read our blog on the custom truck graphics that this client ordered from our shop earlier in the year. They had a Ford F450 that the client wanted to have treated with custom truck graphics. When the client called us this time, they asked for illuminated building signs in Tempe, AZ.
Advertising a Business Location with Channel Letters
The client’s store location is situated in a shopping center with large windows, which are ideally suited for promoting the products to passersby. One of the signs we manufactured consisted of reverse-lit channel letters. The lettering spells out “Golf Carts” and is highly visible at night.
Opting for the back-lit design dramatically enhances the good looks of the signage. Besides that, it lets the words stand out on the otherwise darkened facade. As a result, the company advertises its presence across a large parking lot.
The other channel letters combine with a lightbox cabinet that displays the logo. It spells out, in the company’s unique font, “East Valley,” which is already familiar to customers from the truck graphics. For this sign, the client opted for a front-lit presentation. Rather than allowing the illumination to reflect off the building wall and bathe each of the parts in a soft glow, this sign emphasizes the color palette you see during the day.
Both illuminated building signs in the Tempe location draw attention to the storefront, provide wayfinding assistance, and advertise the company’s site.
The Advantage That Channel Letters Bring to Your Tempe Business Location
Illuminated building signage gives you a significant advantage when you do business after dark. Besides that, it helps you stand out considerably in shopping centers and similar venues where you are close to other companies that are also operating locations there. And, if you are in a field with a lot of local competition, lighted signage could give you the edge you need to catch the customer’s attention first.
Front-Lit vs. Reverse-Lit Channel Letters
Both design options work well. You cannot go wrong with front-lit illumination if you want to underscore your corporate color palette. On the other hand, if you have a brand narrative that appeals to customers’ sense of elegance, reverse-lit lettering could be the best choice. It underscores this aspect of the brand story.
As a general rule of thumb, the front-lit appearance is usually your best option when you complement the channel letters with a box cabinet to feature the corporate logo. However, there is an option to strategically place additional LEDs to allow for a combination of both options. And, when you are already customizing the illumination of your Tempe building sign, why not also check out the many colors that LEDs come in?
Going this route further underscores your branding.
