Dr. Yara Salem is a prominent cosmetic dentist who delivers beautiful, natural smiles at her clinic, Manhattan Dental. Patients flock to 2139 East Southern Avenue to undergo treatment. When the clinic’s management team determined that it needed artistically created wayfinding signs, its representative hired our sign shop to design, build, and install sandblasted wooden signs in Tempe, AZ.
Sandblasted Signs Impress on Multiple Levels
It is unusual for a dentist’s office to commission sandblasted signs. Not surprisingly, this selection helps the clinic stand out beautifully. Our technicians made two 18” x 48” custom sandblasted wood signs. They feature the clinic’s name and logo as well as the mention of the office’s field of care.
Look closely, and you notice that the boards display textured faces, which add tremendous visual interest to the products. We rounded the edges and created a border that shows the same color as the lettering. For the letters, we selected a dark brown color that contrasts nicely with the backdrop.
The resulting brand-focused look is elegant and unusual.
The Design, Production, and Installation of Sandblasted Signs
Are you looking for a unique way to present your brand message to the consumer? Have you been thinking of adding panel signs but simply cannot figure out how to add pizzazz to the look? Sandblasting could be the way to go.
Choose a substrate. Manhattan Dental chose wood. However, some clients ask us to use high-density urethane (HDU), a human-made material.
Select a design. Most clients request the placement of their company’s name and logo. Of course, you can add or take away from this design idea. Our technicians will build a mask that we place over the board. It covers the areas that show your chosen design. Therefore, they will remain as three-dimensional features.
Sandblasting. Now, our technicians start the sandblasting process. It eats away at the material so that only the masked off areas remain in place. However, we are not yet done. Opt for a smooth backdrop or pick a texture. Different textures create a variety of visually intriguing designs.
Painting. Next, we paint the product. With your corporate information standing out – quite literally – we typically apply your brand hues to these pieces. However, our specialists can add any color play that you like. Finally, we add a finish that protects the material and color from weathering.
Installation. We mount the signs in keeping with your preferences. Some clients choose standoffs, whereas others request flush mounts to the wall. For interior sandblasted signs, we might also hang the sign with airplane cables.
