Are you familiar with u-blox and its IoT technology that is revolutionizing the healthcare industry? The company’s local representative recently connected with our shop to buy a dimensional lobby sign. We suggested a brand-centric Gatorfoam sign, and the client loved it! Here is what we did.
Budget-Friendly Gatorfoam is an Ideal Base Material
The company has an elegant logo with a tie-in letter, creating a unique brand presentation. The client was looking for a way to boost the depth of the material and focus attention on the color palette and design details. A Gatorfoam dimensional lobby sign meets all these requirements. Besides that, it is a suitable base material for an eye-catching laminate.
In this case, we cut out the style elements using half-inch-thick Gatorfoam. Next, we cut out the exact pieces using transparent acrylic. Next, our technicians painted the backs of the acrylic with the company’s orange and black colors. Placing the color on the back is advantageous because the client wanted a high-gloss finish, which is the hallmark of acrylic.
Once we had mounted the acrylic to the Gatorfoam backing, we made an appointment to install the product. Even though the display wall consisted of tiles, we could flush-mount the individual pieces. Look closely, and you will notice that the sides of the foam, which we painted, are matte. The high-gloss laminates and the matte edges create a stunning presentation on the semi-gloss wall finish.
Gatorboard vs. Foam Board
Gatorboard is an excellent material for the fabrication of interior signage. Its internal polystyrene core is dense, and its exterior typically features rigid wood fiber covers. In contrast, foam board has a soft core with paper or thin cardboard exteriors. While it is a good option for foam board printing and use in art, it tends to dent easily. Our technicians like using Gatorboard for making lobby signs because it is a sturdy material that does not easily scratch or dent.
When adding acrylic or metallic laminate, you take advantage of the less expensive material’s thickness; after all, you now only buy a thin facing material. Similarly, we recommend Gatorfoam for clients requiring the addition of imprinted vinyl overlays. This is typically the case when there are gradient color changes. Of course, you can keep the material in its usual form. We paint it, and it displays with a chic matte finish.
Custom Gatorfoam Signs for All Occasions
For this client, our shop designed, produced, and installed a brand-centric lobby sign. However, you do not have to limit your use of Gatorfoam to just this type of product. Besides lobby signs, we can also custom-cut it to display signage that welcomes customers, directs foot traffic inside your location, or acts as point-of-sale signs at the shelf level.
Buying a custom Gatorfoam sign is quick and easy. Work with our graphic artist to discuss the display style you are looking for. If you already have a corporate persona you use online and in an office, we work with these specs. Our technicians ensure complete Pantone color matches so that your new lobby sign or other signage solution fits in perfectly with the markers you already have in your space.
