Our team routinely works with clients who need updates to already existing displays. A case in point was the set of interior 3D acrylic letters we recently installed in Phoenix.
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School Made Changes to Its Gym Signage
St. Vincent de Paul is a returning client. Previously, we had designed, fabricated, and installed flat-cut aluminum address letters and custom bronze dedication plaques. The latest project involved interior 3D letters that would update the school’s gymnasium signage.

The gym is named for Pier Giorgio Frassati, who was beatified in 1990 by Pope John Paul II. When the client initially requested dimensional letters to spell out the name, they referred to him as the “Blessed” Pier Giorgio Frassati. However, in 2025, Frassati was canonized by Pope Leo XIV. The school now needed to change its displays to read “Saint” Pier Giorgio Frassati.
Our team fabricated the lettering to fit in beautifully with the already existing products. Moreover, we carefully removed the now-outdated lettering to minimize any wall damage. The finished product looks elegant, fits in perfectly, and appears to have always been there.
Custom Dimensional Letters are Well-Suited for Indoor Signage
In this example, we highlighted the display of interior 3D acrylic letters in Phoenix. The material brings a clean, contemporary look to your location. Choose from polished or matte finishes. That said, what are some other materials to consider?
- Metal. Metals create a durable, premium display. Although a bit heavier than acrylic 3D letters, metals are well worth the added weight when you consider the various finishes. Stick with metallic finishes, choose aged patinas, or select brushed or mirrored displays.
- Sign foam. Whether you opt for Gatorfoam or high-density urethane (HDU), sign foam is lightweight, paintable, and can even mimic more expensive materials with a laminate installation. Additionally, this material works well for displaying large 3D letters or those with thicknesses of more than 3 inches.
- PVC. If you are looking for one of the most budget-friendly solutions currently on the market, PVC does not disappoint. Lightweight, durable, and paintable, it is a good option if your brand’s color palette includes gradient color changes that require imprinted vinyl.
Choosing the Best Material for Your Next Set of Three-Dimensional Letters
It is easy to get lost in the multitude of choices. You have seen the good looks that acrylic offers. For greater depths, PVC and sign foam work well. Other considerations include illumination options, viewing distance, and the brand message you want your signage to convey. If you are weighing the pros and cons of the various material displays, discuss your thoughts with our graphic artist. We gladly assist you in selecting the ideal material.
