Scottsdale Saguaro’s All-American Wall Mural

Every good athletic program knows the importance of pride and tradition. The recognition of past achievements instills everyone on board with a sense of respect for their entity’s history. It gives an identity to the program, which is essential for their success. You often hear analysts talk about how struggling teams lack identity, you can’t win without it.

Identity Comes from Branding

In our language, identity = brand and branding is what we do. Recently, we have worked with many valley area high schools to adorn gymnasiums, stadiums, locker rooms, weight rooms, baseball fields, and more with signage that promotes a winning sense of pride, identity, and brand. Our most recent high school athletics project was with Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, where we installed a brand new wall mural that promotes the school’s impressive list of All-Americans.

Saguaro High School is in the midst of a legendary run of dominance as impressive as any in Arizona football history. This past fall, Saguaro won their 5th state championship in a row – becoming the only high school in Arizona history to do so.

Each year, the Saguaro graduates a slew of Division 1 recruits, and just as everyone is beginning to question how they will replace them, an equally impressive crop emerges from the younger classes. Saguaro is a well oiled machine that shows no signs of slowing down and their domination is reflected in their branding and signage.

This past week, we installed a wall mural outside of the football stadium that displays a list of the 15 Saguaro football players who have been honored as All-Americans. Ten of these players have come since 2009, an incredible pace of over one player per year. To have so many players selected as All-Americans is an amazing achievement given the vast pool of talent across the country that the award draws on.

An Example of Excellence

The valley has some great football talent, but Saguaro High has not produced so much talent by virtue of their lucky geographical location. They have done an incredible job developing and maximizing the potential of the players that have come into their program. This new vinyl wall mural serves as a reminder of the success of the program to all who pass by: players, coaches, fans, and students alike.

In addition to the stadium wall mural, we have worked with Saguaro in the past to implement a sign sponsorship program that entailed sideline banners and scoreboard signage. We have worked with a number of valley schools in this capacity and have a great deal of success bringing additional ad revenue and sharp-looking stadium signage.

Saguaro is a storied football program that has had a ton of success and deserves a ton of respect. They understand the importance of forming an identity through smart and effective branding and we are honored to have been able to help them achieve that.
