Retirement Insurance Specialists (RIS) is a returning client. Several years ago, we designed, produced, and installed the firm’s building sign. Recently, the client asked us to come back and put together one of our illuminated lobby signs in Chandler, AZ.
RIS Impresses with Eye-Catching Signage That Embraces a Brand Message
Our specialists began the design by drafting halo-lit reverse pan channel letters. We scaled them down to fit perfectly on the wall the company selected for the display. To ensure that there would be sufficient space for the integration of white LEDs, we fabricated returns measuring 1.5 inches. Once the letters were completed, we painted the facings in the company’s custom colors.
For the second set of letters, we used ¼-inch-thick acrylic. It surrounds the illuminated style elements. To install them, we flush-mounted the pieces with VHB tape. It does not damage the wall and looks great. For the illuminated letters, we stud-mounted the parts with standoffs. Doing so was instrumental because it allows the light to reflect off the wall.
Combining Multiple Types of Style Elements for a Lobby Sign
For RIS, we combined channel letters with acrylic flat-cut products. Each set of elements was painted in the firm’s corporate color palette. However, did you know that you do not have to limit yourself to these materials? We frequently work with clients who favor mixed media signage products.
- Panel and vinyl overlay. Perhaps the most commonly chosen look involves a transparent acrylic board. Some clients ask us to paint it, hide LEDs behind it, and place an imprinted vinyl overlay on the front for the corporate persona. That said, we could also set a frosted piece of vinyl behind the clear acrylic and another overlay in front. It creates an elegant look.
- Panel and 3D letters. Other clients favor the combination of a metal or acrylic panel with three-dimensional letters. Materials might include sign foam, vinyl, or something else altogether. These signs are perfect for catching the attention of those entering a venue.
- Vinyl graphics and 3D letters. Another option is the combination of printed vinyl wall graphics and three-dimensional letters. You might choose acrylic or metal. Integrating the 3D letters with a custom-printed backdrop is a good way to transform a wall into a focal point that combines splashes of color with graphics you want your customers to see right away. The 3D letters stand out sufficiently to brand the business.
