The Town of Gilbert asked our team to assist with a precision-tooled bronze plaque in Gilbert, AZ. We were asked to replicate the existing plaque installed in the mayor’s office’s main chamber. Additionally, the client asked us to add acrylic letters above the plaque to create greater visibility for the town’s name and state.
Precision-Tooled Plaques Create Stunning Permanent Presentations
Our technicians make machine-tooled bronze using a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) router. This product allows us to create perfect replicas of bronze memorial plaques, town seals, and similar items.
Beginning with a length of bronze in the desired thickness, the router makes images and letters stand out in a three-dimensional display by removing background metal. The finished product combines letters and graphics for a perfect copy of the city seal, which now hangs in the mayor’s office.
Black Acrylic Letters Boost Ambiance in Council Chambers
In addition to a bronze plaque, the client requested half-inch-thick acrylic black letters that spell out “Gilbert” and “Arizona” to display perfectly centered above the new seal. Besides measuring the wall to find the space’s perfect center, we also marked the plaque. It ensures that both products – letters and seal – are centered behind the mayor’s set in the chamber. Black acrylic was the ideal selection because it complements the black background coloring of the bronze plaque.
Working with Municipalities on Signage for a Variety of Locations
Our team has a long history of helping with signs for cities and towns. Whether you have a park that needs signage, a sports field that could use some wayfinding assistance, or a public institution where you would like to remember donors or elected officials, we can help.
Machine-tooled metal is one option for the client needing highly detailed presentations. We usually recommend this manufacturing method when working on a product with a lot of lettering or intricate graphics. If you are not a fan of bronze, please note that we can also make precision-tooled plaques using brass or aluminum.
Are Cast Bronze Plaques a Better Choice?
Casting is a different technique that works well for bronze and aluminum. It is a fantastic choice for a product that impresses with stunning depths and three-dimensional foreground letters or images. Moreover, casting is the classical approach to plaque creation. Selecting this product makes integrating custom shapes, portraits, and finishes possible. Some clients love the use of polished or painted patinas.
