Our team recently had the opportunity to design, produce, and install and set of custom mixed media signs in Mesa, AZ. This project took us to Bonelli Windows + Doors at 7958 East Ray Road. In business since 1967, this company has focused on fully customized window and door surfaces that impress with their size and artistic presentation.
Bonelli Reinforces Its Brand Story with Mission Statement Panels
When the client decided to reinforce the company’s mission, vision, and values among employees and visitors to the location, the management team asked us to put together several panels that would spell out the information in a visually attractive way.
We determined that mixed media signs were the ideal way to go for this project.
- Panels. We used brushed metal boards for the panels that we cut into shape. This material does not allow for glare, making it the ideal backing for signage put up where natural or artificial lighting exists.
- Lettering. Black vinyl is a fantastic visual contrast to the silvery sheen of the backing. Most importantly, it allowed us to combine the mission, vision, and values statement on the same panel by reversing the letter color selections from silver to black.
- Standoffs. For the installation, our technicians worked with aluminum standoffs. Although we typically use brushed metal, we chose slightly polished standoffs for this project. They create another visual counterpoint to the panel.
Brand-Focused Vision, Values, and Mission Statements in the Break Room
The client asked us to make a separate display for the company’s break room. This space did not have the wall space needed to replicate the panel we did. However, it had an attractive wall space above a backsplash that was well suited for featuring the information in a different form. Rather than having one panel, we fabricated five using metal panels.
To cut out the letters for the headings and present the corporate logo, we used Gatorfoam. This is a budget-friendly material that is lightweight but durable. Next, we added acrylic facings. It gives the illusion that the three-dimensional letters and logo displays are made from the more expensive acrylic. For the panels, we worked with a combination of metal and vinyl. We installed the finished boards with smaller standoffs.
Customized Mixed Media Signage
Clients are taking advantage of the great look that combinations of materials bring to a space. Acrylic or metal make excellent laminates for Gatorfoam letters. Adding imprinted vinyl overlays to aluminum composite boards lets you take advantage of the material’s durability and the opportunity to display gradient color changes.
