Our team recently collaborated with a new client on designing a Gatorfoam lobby sign in Mesa, AZ. For a chic finish, we added a brushed bronze laminate. Check it out!
Ascent Administration Services Outfits Its Offices With a Gatorfoam Sign
Ascent Administration Services serves the automotive industry. The client was looking for a chic sign that highlighted the brand’s versatility and attention to detail. We suggested three-dimensional letters. Our graphic artist assisted with the design of a product that perfectly matches the client’s requirements.
The lobby sign’s “Ascent” construction began with custom-cut Gatorfoam. Our technicians painted the returns bronze and added a brushed bronze laminate to the fronts. For the “Administration Services” portion of the sign, we used acrylic for the lettering, which we also clad with the brushed bronze finish.
Combining these style elements looks elegant, perfectly encapsulates the brand’s message, and welcomes customers by making an excellent first impression.
What is Gatorfoam?
Gatorfoam is a lightweight but rigid material made from extruded polystyrene. It typically comes as boards that technicians can cut into the client’s desired shapes. There is a paintable wood fiber surface on each side of the foam core. That said, painting the material is only one option. As our project for this client shows, adding a brushed metallic laminate and custom-painted returns adds an elegant touch and gives the illusion that the entire sign is made of the much more expensive metal.
Other Gatorfoam Lobby Sign Projects That Illustrate Its Versatility
Laminates are a good way to go. You have the advantage of Gatorfoam’s thickness with the good looks of the material you select for laminating it. For example, consider a budget-friendly Gatorfoam 3D letter sign with a custom-painted acrylic laminate. And, to get the glossy look you might be looking for, we propose painting the laminate’s back!
Clients with brands featuring gradient color changes see their displays take shape with printed vinyl overlays on Gatorfoam lettering. Some clients like the idea of a mixed-media sign design. For example, an acrylic lobby logo panel with 3D Gatorfoam letters is ideal for combining the painted foam’s matte finish with the acrylic’s glossy finish.
By the way, Gatorfoam is also suitable for logo displays that become the focal point of a reception area. A case in point is a 50-piece lobby logo display we prepared, along with gradient color changes.
