Last year, we spent some time on the campus of Highland High School. We designed, produced, and installed vinyl door wraps and welcome logo graphics at that time. The client invited us to return for a new project: aluminum school signs in Gilbert, AZ.
Encouraging Student-Athletes with Highly Visible Records
The administration firmly believes in honoring the school’s student-athletes for track and field records. These include relay runners, pole vaulters, and hurdlers. However, the old sign had a problem. In addition to showing some signs of sun damage, the name plates kept falling off. The school had been using Velcro to hold them in place, but the heat kept melting the glue of the backing strips. The before picture shows the problem.
Aluminum Composite and Standoffs Add a Contemporary, Functional Appearance
Featuring the school color was a must. We got the job done by beginning the project with a 3mm-thick aluminum composite backer panel. Next, we cut 6mm-thick nameplates. For the installation, we looked past Velcro and opted for three silver standoffs instead. These are small and do not obstruct the view of the names.
Adding new nameplates or making other changes is as quick and easy as unscrewing the standoff caps. It is fast and precise and will not result in dropped nameplates. Best of all, we were able to boost the size of the hawk, the school’s mascot, on the new panel. The finished product looks neat, is functional, and continues the tradition of recognizing the school’s star athletes.
Spotlight Signs and Imaging Solutions Specializes in High School Athletic Signs
We have an entire product page devoted to high school athletic signs. These include scoreboards for the field, fence banners that go the length of the field, bleacher signage, wall graphics, and anything else schools in the area need to encourage the athletic engagement of students and parents. Besides that, we help schools build relationships with sponsors through signage options.
Our team can also assist you with building signage if you are still looking for three-dimensional letters, channel letters, or lightbox cabinets. Besides these products, monument signs are popular for schools because they make wayfinding easy for first-time visitors. Another product we have worked on quite a bit is perforated vinyl for window graphics. Schools like being able to feature mascots and colors without sacrificing safety. As you know, perforated vinyl lets those inside see out.
