Cities investing in updated park signage not only improve visitor experiences, but they also succeed in strengthening their community’s identity. One of the most frequently requested signage solutions is the post-and-panel setup. Of course, there are always challenges when designing, fabricating, and installing post-and-panel park signs for Arizona cities. That said, our team has found ways to overcome them!
Challenge: Park Signs Fade, Crack, and Print Peels
One of the most frequently mentioned challenges is Arizona’s intense UV exposure. In the past, it caused custom post-and-panel signs to fade prematurely. Sign faces would crack. The solution is clear: Replace vinyl sign faces with aluminum composite panels. Add UV-resistant graphics and laminates.
Challenge: City Park Signs Fail to Fit the Brand
Cities, just like businesses, brand themselves. Think of the colors, symbols, and fonts selected for signs. However, over the years, many cities have used various sign vendors, approved different designs, and displayed both aging and new signs. We suggest a coordinated post-and-panel program that ensures all park signs feature consistent city colors, matching fonts, standard sign shapes, and city logos. This consistency helps residents and visitors to recognize official city parks immediately.
Challenge: Poor Visibility or Confusing Information Displays
Besides small lettering and poor color contrast, confusion can arise if each sign displays the necessary park information differently. The solution is clear: Create a master sign design that determines where pieces of information will be displayed in parks throughout the city.
Post and Panel Park Signs for Arizona Cities: Eloy
For our case study, we want to highlight the project we recently undertook for the City of Eloy. The client experienced many of the same challenges we outlined before. When it was time to renovate their park signs, they asked our team to help. We collaborated closely with the client to design, build, and install the post-and-panel signs for all the city’s parks.
Notice the design structure the client selected:
- The name of the park, park hours, and the city’s seal are at the top.
- A separate section spells out park rules, pet requirements, and permit details.
- The final section shows the park’s address and includes a QR code linking to interactive visitor information.
Work With the Sign Team That Serves Arizona Cities
The post-and-panel park signs in Eloy are only the latest example of Arizona city signs our team has put together for local municipalities. Other examples include a signage refresh at Gilbert’s Cactus Yard, new municipal signage in Maricopa County, and government monument signs. Which signage setup is right for your city? Let’s talk about it. Call us today to discuss your next signage project!
