It is a common misconception that vehicle wraps are only for business owners who want to join the mobile marketing revolution. In fact, they are also excellent for everyday car owners who want to dress up their rides. Case in point is the design of one of our Volkswagen Bug color change wraps we recently undertook.
Our client had a 16-year-old son who was ready to drive. The client also had mom’s old convertible VW Bug that would be ideal to pass down to the next generation. Unfortunately, for junior, the car had a light blue paint job and flower decals, which is most likely not the type of ride the young man would want to be seen in.
Color Change Wraps Turn Heads
We worked with our client to create the type of product that would suit the taste of the new driver and give him one of the most memorable vehicles any of his friends probably drive. We started with a removal of the flower decals and then stripped down the car. Next, we installed a matte black color change wrap that covers every square inch of the vehicle’s exterior and some interior spaces, too. By adding carbon fiber accents, we gave the VW a bit of added pizzazz. It now turns heads – and not just those of younger drivers.
Who Requests the Product?
We frequently deal with business owners who buy cheap trucks for their companies. The downside of these purchases is the assortment of odd colors they find. For example, it is not unusual to get vans or trucks that are painted orange or feature multiple colors. Private car buyers, too, are not opposed to compromising on the color of a car if they can get great deals. But once the vehicle is in the garage, there is no denying that the paint job has to go.
A New Paint Job or a Color Change Wrap?
- Taking a cheap used car to a body shop for a complete color change gets pricey. If you have it done correctly, it may even cost more than you paid for the vehicle itself. A wrap is a budget-friendly alternative. However, there are other reasons why the wrap is a better choice.
- Texture. Anyone can change a vehicle’s color from pink to black. Nevertheless, to add a 3D effect like alligator or snakeskin, you need a specialty wrap product. The same goes for carbon fiber or chrome accents. These special effects do not come from a spray paint gun.
- Changeability. If you decide that you do not like the wrap in a few years, we can easily remove the product and return the vehicle to its original color. If you are planning to use it as a trade-in for another car, the standard color could heighten its value, depending on the taste of the dealership and its targeted customers.
Add on. You can add on to a hot color change wrap. For example, plenty of folks with textured wraps like to have their dashboards treated, too. This is not a service the typical paint shop offers.
